Sam Simpson Counselling

Fees

In the first instance, please call or e-mail for an initial conversation about what you’re looking for and what I offer.

I usually then suggest we meet for a no-obligation introductory session of 30 minutes. I don’t charge for this session, and it comes with no conditions or expectations. It’s a chance for us to meet and see whether we feel comfortable and would like to work together. It also gives you an opportunity to tell me more about your personal circumstances, and to ask me whatever you need to know about me and about how I work.

After that, my standard fee for individual counselling is £80 per 1-hour session and £120.00 per 1-hour session for couples counselling.

My fee for individual supervision is £80 per 1-hour session.

If you would like to work with me and are unable to pay my full fee on a regular basis, I offer some concessionary rates for off-peak sessions and would be open to discussing this further.

I review my fees each year in January.

Cancellation

I realise that sometimes life can get in the way of therapy and you have to cancel. I require one week’s notice of cancellation in order to endeavour to re-allocate your time slot. In the absence of such notice it is seldom possible to make that replacement and I will, therefore, charge for the missed session at the usual rate. Personal circumstances will be considered and I will always do my best to offer an alternative slot.

Ending

Endings tend to have their own natural feel. Ideally, we would recognise that the work is coming to an end, set a date and make time to reflect on and honour our work together. To this end, I ask for a minimum of a week’s notice when ending therapy and a session’s notice when ending supervision. The longer we work together, the more time it is helpful to allocate to creating our ending.
